So I have to share with ya'll.... I haven't been SCURRED in a minute. I mean, when God whispers "GO" I just step up. I have practiced perseverance relentlessly over the past 7 years. I have messed up and fallen flat on my face so many times -- not much phases me anymore.
BUTTTTT... today... I am interviewing someone on my podcast that has (((( WAIT FOR IT )))) 6 MILLLLLION DOWNLOADS on her ? podcast. .
I know she's a human that went after her mission, just like me. But, yall. I'm ⭐️ star-stuck.
This was the first podcast I became obsessed with. Through her message, I heard holy-spirit whisper "start a podcast". She was the first person I wrote down on my 'dream guest' list.
You think I'm kidding?
Sometimes I act on excitement rather than intuition. (Hello Enneagram 3). I am so insane that I pitched her wayyyyyy back when I had ONE EPISODE. ?
BAHAHAHAAAAA. She was gracious enough to write back and said no thanks. Bummer right? Are you surprised to hear I didn't cross her off my dream guest list? I kept showing up. Kept taking messy action. Kept pushing forward and serving.
And here I sit, pinching myself... 8 months later. My dream guest is no longer a dream. SHE'S COMING ON MY SHOW. Today!
I had to share this with you for 3 reasons:
1) No means not yet. Keep pushing.
2) Don't give up on my dreams and goals. They will HAPPEN. Eventually!
3) Prepare for nervous, excited fear to show up in your journey. There will always be phases of NEXT LEVEL. Go so far as to anticipate fear. It means GROWTH.

And I cannot believe that my little human is still napping. We are going on two hours and 15 minutes. So I'm going to see if I can get this recorded for you before he wakes up. I think I can do it. We'll find out. Anyway, let's dig into today's topic, which is affiliate marketing. I couldn't believe that I didn't have an episode specifically on affiliate marketing yet. And I'm like, hello. Like this is such a phenomenal way to create supplemental, passive income. And I want to teach you all the things. My friend, I want to teach you when you can use affiliate marketing, when you should use it versus your own products, how to get into affiliate marketing, what to expect as an affiliate marketer, and then how you can actually copyright or market this way. So get ready. It's going to be so good.

So, first of all, what's affiliate marketing staff. What does that mean?
I'm so glad you asked Susan. Okay. I'm so sorry. I am on another level right now with too much coffee consumption. So that got awkward, have fun with that affiliate marketing is when you are super obsessed with a product or service, and then you decide to go tell all your friends and family and network about it. And when people go and purchase using your super special link, that's just for you. You get a kickback from that company, and it's typically between 15 and 30%. And the beauty of this is you're already recommending the stuff you use and love anyway. So why not get a commission for it? Am I right? So that's what affiliate marketing is now. How can you use affiliate marketing to monetize to day right now? Whatever you do. I really hope my sister, friend, you are pouring out your incredible content into the world.
Somehow, are you showing up on Instagram consistently? Are you doing a blog post that you share on Pinterest? Do you have a YouTube channel? Do you go live? Do you have a podcast? How are you showing up in the world and giving away value for free? Because if you're not doing that, start doing it like yesterday, the online world is getting more and more saturated. And if you want to stand out and create a brand and create something that is your own, you must show up in the world consistently and pour out free trainings and tips and guides and all of that jazz. Okay. So that's that now? How can you make money? Because hello, we can't just work for free and give away all of our best stuff and receive nothing in return. You know how I feel about this? You need to have your own products, your own courses, or eBooks or membership groups, dah, dah, dah, dah.
If you want to talk about that, hire me sister. I can help you get there. I also have courses to help you with this passionately profitable is the one I would recommend you start with. But in the meantime, you can start monetizing using affiliate marketing while you create the courses or get clarity on what courses you can create and do the thing. Okay? And the beauty of this is that you can sign up to be an affiliate marketer today. You can basically decide what products are best in alignment with your brand. I would be sure that you are using them yourself, or you are so excited about them. Go to that website or Google, you know, affiliate marketing blank, the company name, sign up for their affiliate program, because I would say 80% of the products and services that I use have an affiliate program.
Like did you know I have an affiliate program. If you have ever taken a course from me before you can become an affiliate for that course and earn 30 or 40% commission. I mean, hello. So ask people, do you have an affiliate program? If you love their course or you love their service, or you love their product where you wear their t-shirts or it's that your favorite nutritional shake in your nutrition coach? Okay. So that's what it is. Now. When should you start using affiliate marketing? You should start using affiliate marketing today. If you don't have your own product, your own course, your own membership group, which should be your number one focus, because you need to create 100% profit margin and that comes from your own stuff. But in the meantime, you should be using something to monetize your brand. And I would recommend using affiliate marketing.
So let's dig into like my secrets, my tips and tricks for utilizing this strategy as a passive income stream, that feeds your big umbrella brand. And how do we choose the affiliate that fits your brand and your business best? So let's start with, how can you choose the filter? Now let's take some examples here. Let's say that you are, my name is Mindy, and you have this cookie business that you're trying to get going. You make customized cookies, you ship them all over the world and you just love these cookies so much. Okay. Instead of just trading time for money and make cookies all day, how can you supplement this with affiliate marketing? Wow. I hope you're creating your cookie course, whether that be a cookie masters course for people that want to start their own cookie business, or whether that be a at-home cookie crafter course, I don't care, but you better create something, sweetie.
That's passive that's based on your expertise. However, in the meantime, in between cookie baking and creating this amazing course, what if you had this cookbook that you always used to create desserts under five minutes and this cookbook was custom to your type of ingredients. It was really in line with the audience that you serve head over to that website, get in touch with that author and them. If they have an affiliate program to market their cookbook, let's say they do great. You're going to sign up right there on their website. Then they're going to give you a link. You're going to get this link off that dashboard. Once you sign up, you then are going to go and you can create like a Bitly link. So for example, cause it's probably, it's gonna be really long, like, you know, fancy schmancy cookbooks slash Q our affiliate code number 72.
And like nobody's going to go there. Okay. So you want to maybe create a Bitly link, just go to bitly.com and you can create a link that something like Bitly slash favorite cookie cookbook, and when people purchase using that link, you then earn a commission. You could also be an affiliate for the ingredients that you're recommending on your blog posts, right? So if you're talking about all the time, this favorite coconut flour that you're using using be an affiliate for that coconut flour, if you're counting, it's only talking about your favorite mixing bowl and it costs 300 bucks and it's an industrial mixing bowl and it changes the way that you make cookies and the efficiency in which you produce this product become an affiliate for the mixing bowl. Okay. So just make sure that the affiliate product service or person fits your avatar. You don't want to have this cookie business and your affiliate marketing for nutritional product, like a health shake or something.
It's just not an alignment. If your full focus is the cookie business. Okay. So that would be just like an example. We can use me as an example. So when I was creating and I go in waves guys, sometimes I like to promote an affiliate product, especially if that's what I'm talking about on the episode, but I want to find products that serve you and then be an affiliate for them. And I make sure that I use those products myself, that I have an exceptional user experience that I know they're going to help you grow your business, automate your business, find more space and time in your life scale. You're like they're going to serve you. And then when I find those products and I want to start recommending them, I sign up as an affiliate. So for example, if you go to Stephanie gas.com/resources, you can see every single company that I affiliate for.
And you're going to notice a lot of those products and services I talk about on this podcast, right? I have my own affiliate opportunity for all of you. That's over email@example.com slash resources. I have teachable, which is my platform for hosting courses. I have get response, which is my email marketing. Like I have like 10, I don't know, go there, look at them, but that's kind of how you want to grow your affiliate portfolio. And I highly recommend now let's shift into how to then market these affiliate relationships. So I highly recommend creating a list for your avatar, your consumer, or your client on your website that has every single product you recommend with an affiliate link. Now a cover your booty tip is to be sure that you create a disclaimer that says if you purchase from any of these links, I will receive an affiliate commission.
You just want to make sure that's clear. Anytime you do anything, that's a sponsorship type of post or a recommendation in exchange for profits. You need to legally public. We create a disclaimer surrounding that. All right. So how do you actually promote these affiliate products to your market? My favorite way is to supplement my courses or eBooks or handbooks with my products. So for example, I have a course called passionately profitable. This course takes my consumer, my student from how to brand themselves, how to identify their God, led calling, how to figure out who their avatar is, how to beat money blocks, and then how to understand a lead magnet and high level touches on a passive income products. So it takes them through basically starting a business, okay. Starting an online business. Now, when somebody takes this course, what do they need? Well, gosh, they probably need an email marketing system set up because they're going to create a lead magnet.
So I'm going to recommend that they use the one that I'm obsessed with, which is get response. So inside my course, which they've already paid for, they can then also choose to purchase the products and services that I'm using. And if they purchase it right there, in my course, I have a direct link for them to my affiliate recommendation. I will receive 20 or 30% commission. And guys, this is a beautiful thing on both ends because the people that are consuming your products and services and courses, they trust you. That's why they're taking your course. So if you have something that can serve them and you can recommend the product, or you can recommend the online service, that's going to get them to the end goal faster, do it. And if you're going to receive a kickback for that recommendation, hello, like why would you not?
You should always be profiting in your business because that's how you continue to serve more people. That's how you become a world changer and you have more financial provision to change lives, to scale, to touch more humans on this earth, right? So you can supplement. Now another example would be, I have a funnel course that teaches people how to create an online funnel with, Oh my gosh, there's so many things in there that I want to recommend to them. A webinar service provider, an email service provider, I want to recommend to them teachable to house their courses. And so all of those things have my affiliate link. So I love to use as a supplement because it's a minimal commission it's simply should be looked at, in my opinion, as an a supplemental income stream. I think for most of you, for 90% of you that are mompreneurs, you should look at passive income creation as your number one income source, because you're not exchanging time for money.
And this would be the course or the book. Okay. So then Ellis, can you monetize these affiliates? Well, girl, it's limitless. Do you have Instagram stories? Yeah. We all do show up on there once a week and say, Oh my gosh, I am so in love with this cookie cookbook. It's my favorite. I just made these chocolate chip chunky cookies. I think I'm hungry. If you guys want to grab this cookbook at 10% off here is my link. Just swipe up or the links in my bio. Go grab it. Or let's say that you're an affiliate for teachable. That's one of the ones I'm an affiliate for. I know that I'm talking to an entrepreneur, she has courses. So I'm going to say to her, go over to my link, go to Stephanie gas.com/resources, sign up for teachable. It's my favorite platform for creating courses.
It's so user-friendly the app is insanely amazing on your phone. You can take courses right there from your phone. You can download the courses that you want to take, and then you don't even need a wifi. You can be in an airplane taking your courses like I'm obsessed with teachable, and then people go there. And when they sign up for that, I receive a commission. So you can be monetizing your brand by recommending the things that will serve your audience. In Instagram stories, you can put it as a call to action at the end of your blog post or inside of your podcast episode. If you guys go back to the first 10 episodes of my show. So often I was using affiliates as the way I was monetizing my show. For example, I had one for thrive cart, which is my payment gateway. And I was like, Oh my gosh, you guys like I'm obsessed with thrive cart.
It literally increased my checkout conversion. By 50%, you can get it at a lifetime price of like 600 bucks. You never have to pay for it again, you haven't for forever. I've secured that deal for you. You're going to head over to Bitly slash get thrive cart now. So do you see how that Bitly link makes it easy for the person to go type that in and get it? And now are you curious, like what's thrive cart, but my point is monetize your free content from day one. Even if you have zero of your own products and services. So now you're like, okay, stuff, but when should I push affiliate products versus my own products? If you have your own product girl, you best to be pushing that because that is going to provide you a much larger profit margin than someone else's product. So there's that first of all, now there's one exception to this rule.
If I have an episode on email marketing, I'm going to promote my affiliate relationship with get response, okay? Because that's relevant to the content I'm putting out there. If you are a wellness coach and you're doing a specific episode on how stair climbing can increase, you know, your gluteus Maximus and your booty can look great in that swimsuit bottom, and you have an affiliate relationship with your favorite stair climbing company or something, or a stair climbing course or, or booty glute course affiliate and recommend that in that specific blog post for that specific YouTube video, because the people watching that are obviously interested in that topic. So just be topic specific. And then that's really the only time I will deviate from promoting my own courses or my own coaching. Okay. Now, a couple of bonus tips for you. I've talked about these Bitly links.
Okay. So you can do that. For example, like I said, Thrivecart, for me, they gave me a big, long link, but I can just use a Bitly link and create one that's Bitly slash get thrive cart now. And the beauty of that is you can say that during a YouTube video or during your podcast or in your Instagram stories, and people can go type that in really simply and easily and end up on your affiliate site. Now even better is to house all of your affiliates on your website. And you can push people to one page that you own because I have so many products I use and online resources, and I wanted a hub for people to go see, well, what are the products and services that make Stephanie successful? They can go to that page and literally use every single thing that I'm using today to run this business really successfully.
Now I can also be an affiliate for every single one of those things that I recommend. So if I can push people to one page where they can find all of my resources, not only is it a win for them, but it's also a win for me because I'm receiving commission back from the company for those referrals. So I would work on, if you have a website creating a resource page with all of your affiliate links. And like I said, you definitely need to disclaimer that so that people know you're receiving a small commission for their purchase. I also put on there that I don't recommend anything that I don't personally use so that people know she's not just like trying to sell me something. She literally uses his product and that's why she's recommending it. And yeah, like affiliate marketing is a great way to pull in some side hustle.
And I think it's a great supplement to your courses, to your membership groups, to your community, especially those things that like you can't live without, you should absolutely be telling your community about it because it's making your life better. So it'll probably make their life better as well. And I hope you loved this episode and all of those tips and tricks. I'm excited to see what you implement.
