My entire online sisterhood just passed 100K. ?
100,000 incredible women that my work is directly impacting. I am taking a minute to soak that in because it feels surreal.
When I set out on this mission to pour into women that wanted to be exceptional moms, but ALSO had a God-led call to be business owners and successful entrepreneurs, I wasn't sure how many people I would actually touch.
I chose to go against the grain of what everyone else was doing and try something new. It was time to go rogue. I took my faith and I meshed it with online marketing, sales and mindset. SAY WHAAAAAA? ? I started preaching... I mean training on this idea that WOMEN CAN FREAKING HAVE IT ALL. Limitless abundance. Favor and provision… in all areas of her life.
That she could have an intentional family life AND an amazing, thriving business. That is wasn't either/or. And, if she would release the fear, the limiting beliefs, and get out of her own way, GOD would lay the bricks of her new foundation.
I chose to stop telling her to WORK HARDER, wake up at 4AM, grind it out, push harder, take more on, and CRUSH IT... and instead to start saying NO, start automating, start outsourcing, start putting herself first, and only work when she is 100% dedicated, focused, and obsessed with her mission.
That she has the RIGHT to only do the stuff that is serving her BEST. DANG. LIFE. To let go of 'comfortable', 'okay', 'meh'. And finally, to TRUST that God will provide the how and the provision.
It was risky.
I questioned if this micro-niche of hyper spiritual, goal-getter, list checking, audaciously leaping mompreneurs who were obsessed with creating her ULTIMATE life even existed. But I went there. Because God told me to. And when MY creator - the creator of the universe whispers GO... sis, I go.
I knew that God would lead me to the women that needed me the most... and wow. I am blown away by His promise.
In today’s podcast episode, I walk you through HOW He grew my sisterhood to over 100,000. What it took, how long it took, the mindset I had to have, the good, the hard, and everything in between. I hope you enjoy.

I want you to be part of our mompreneur mafia, our sisterhood, our movement.
Okay. So if you want to join us, I want you to head over to 30 ways to grow a following dot G R eight.com and get subscribed to the insider list. So you can be part of the group. You get first alert on new podcast episodes. You get freebies, you get gifts, you get all my free trainings and my love notes twice a week. Again, that is 30 ways to grow a following doc G R eight.com. All right, let's talk, growing a following. I posted a poll on Instagram stories recently that asked you guys what the number one issue was. You were facing as a mompreneur or as an online entrepreneur and 90% of the responses to that poll said growing a following. And I feel you, I can totally relate to this. Okay. November 3rd of 2012, it was my Berry first day of being an entrepreneur had just signed up for my network marketing company, K just invested a thousand dollars to become an entrepreneur.
Ah, on that day I had zero people, Z E R O zero people in my quote unquote community, right? I had a Facebook account. I think I had a MySpace account. I want to say that was still a thing. I probably had a hundred friends or so, but they were like actual friends, like my family members, my close friends, and my average likes per post, because I did so much research for this episode on numbers, on what it actually took for me to grow this thing. My average like per post at that time around November 3rd was 12, 12 likes per post. So if you have 12 likes right now, you're starting where I started. So you're just fine, SIS. All right. Now, here we are. As we sit roughly six and a half years later, that is 324 months. That is 9,720 ish days, 233,280 hours and 13,996,800 minutes later.
Now, have you ever heard anyone say it takes 10,000 hours to perfect your craft 10,000 hours. So from day I started as an entrepreneur, I have spent 233,000 hours building my entrepreneurship success story. So take that with a grain of salt as you listen to me, hop up onto my preacher soap box on this episode, right? Because I meet with clients all the time that say, I'm not able to grow a following. This isn't working. Nobody's liking my stuff. Nobody's showing up. Nobody's joining my group. I'm so frustrated. I don't think I should keep posting. Nobody cares. Why? Let me ask you, how many hours have you been growing this following? How many minutes have you been at this game? And before we get to say, it's not working, we have to what work.
So in that time, that six and a half years, it was filled with grit, grind, failure, guys showing up with so much fear, falling on my face. Multiple times, being embarrassed. Wondering what if getting shut down hearing? No and no, and no, and heck no girl making little to no income at times. Losing complete belief in myself, my journey, my path starting over quitting. And then starting back again the next day, quitting for 10 minutes, right? Cried myself to sleep and then waking up and dusting off and saying, freaking, I'm doing this. Like I'm going to do this thing. Tears, anger, frustration, all the overwhelm. You could possibly imagine. Here's a story for you. So I remember setting up these weekly events in the early years of my network marketing business, I would promote like crazy. I mean, I'd spend three or four hours promoting so that I'd be sure that these events would be really successful.
I would create really pretty graphics. I would send out personalized emails. I would make phone calls. I would sit at the computer and send personalized inbox, whatever my space messages were called back then write messages to people. And I would work my tail off to be sure that these events were going to have guests at them. Then I would get childcare, whether that might be my husband, whether that was a babysitter, whether it was a family member for an entire evening, usually, you know, it would have to be three or four hours. Then I had to put on all the makeup, get ready, prepare my presentation. I practice these things over and over again, to be sure that I could stand up in front of the room when I was terrified of public speaking and present in case my mind went blank because in the early days I would black out.
When I would have to stand in front of a crowd, I would get so nervous that I would actually black out what I was saying. I didn't even remember when I was done. I'm like, what did I do say to my friends? Right? So I would practice for hours to be sure that it wasn't memory retention, that when I stood up, it would just come out of my mouth without me having to, to struggle or search for my notes and all of those things. So hours of all of these things, then I would drive 30 plus minutes. Both ways to get to these events. I'd set up all the tickets Knology and y'all know that's a big old pain in the booty. We'd lay out the snacks, the cheese and crackers and grapes, which we spent. We, I, most of the time spent 50 bucks on the one water bottles, the drinks, the wine, spread out all the marketing materials. So that everything really great. Right? And then I'd sit and wait with anticipation. I was so excited because I knew I had promoted this thing. I had 10 RSVP. People were coming, they were going to bring a friend. This was the event I had done my makeup, my homework, my practice. I was ready. I was going to make this thing, the biggest success in my business so far.
Oh. And then I waited more and I waited and I waited and I waited and I drank the wine and I eat the cheese because guess what? No one came, no one, not one. Human came to my event that two hours of drive time, including bestseller, end up getting the childcare. None of that is free. Let's get real. Not to mention that prep time I spent like this event was supposed to be it. I was so crushed, like crushed is the word, you know, to the point of, I shouldn't have done this. This is dumb. This is a failure. Everybody's going to laugh at me. Everyone's going to know that nobody came. I'm going to be ridiculed and judged and then I'm not gonna make any money. So I'm at a loss for income. This was a bad decision, man. I'm so embarrassed. Have you ever had that feeling?
And if you haven't get ready, it's coming SIS. Guess what? That story didn't play out like that just once it's not like that only happened to me one time, it happened to me over and over again. I would say at least twice a month, that happened to me. Z row people, zero. There were so many failures. That's just one example of like a gut wrenching, blast setback, huge defeat failure in my business. Okay. But I kept showing up. I kept my head up. I am many things friend, but I am not a quitter. When I say I am going to do stuff thing, I am going to do it, period. So listen up my beautiful friend, this journey, this entrepreneurship journey, this building, following quest, that everybody is on that. You're on that. I'm on creating tribe of people that love you and trust you, that follow you, that work with you, that buy from you.
Okay? It's not pretty, it's not glamorous. It is far from easy to those people telling you that it's easy, that you can have fast success that in a couple months, they spring to the top and this and that, that you, if you just work hard enough and show up and hear enough, knows that quickly, this can happen for you. It's a lie. I am calling them out right now. You might have fast success, but honestly, guys, that's going to be you getting lucky or you already having a large following before you start this new thing. If you're starting from ground zero, that road is long. It is ugly. It is covered in weeds and potholes. It is covered in tears, baby, but that very bumpy, ugly gravel road turns into the golden paved road over what time? Because here's the thing, right? Like growing an online empire.
Even if you don't want an empire, even if you want a community of a thousand, it takes grit. What does that word make you think of? It's hard. You're going to hustle. It's going to take so much effort and energy. It takes you showing up when no one cares when no one watches when no one comments likes follows you. Right? Here's another story for you. One of my first live videos, I had a couple lives. One of them actually turned out pretty successfully back in the day because live was super new, but one of them, okay, this is the one I'm going to tell you about was one of my first lives. My hands. I remember like, okay, I'm going to go live today. Right? Like you're like amping up the situation. You have all this fear. So if you haven't listened to my fear episode, go listen.
But you got all this fear, anxiety. My face is red. I'm super sweaty, sweating through my shirt. It is super, super, super crazy. My heart is pounding. I had done my makeup, which is rare as y'all know, gotten the kids occupied. I practiced and practiced and practiced. Like I knew what I was going to say on this live video. This was going to be the one. Like it was going to work. I was going to grow my entrepreneurship business and I was going to make income from this. And I was going to have all these new people excited and what I was all about. And then I wrote out the description. I took care. So it was really fun and exciting and got my lighting ready. I didn't have lighting at the time. So I think I sat outside and you know, okay, three, two, one, like, is your heart pounding?
You're like, you, you, you live go. I pushed go. Right. I started talking. And I remember thinking, when did people join these? Like, is it not updating? Why is nobody on here? I'm like three minutes in just, we'll started in a minute and I'm thinking, should I just quit and delete it? Like nobody sees I'm on. So I should just delete it. Like crap. I hate this. And then I just said, you know what? I'm just going to finish it. 15 hot mess, hot mess. Minutes later, crickets. There wasn't one person. Well, actually one person would hop on and then they'd hop right off. Does that happen to you? They're like, I'm going to watch you. No, no. I didn't mean to click that ad and I was crushed again. And this was all in the first, like three months of my business. Okay.
But I kept showing up. I kept my head up. Wasn't a quitter. I was not going to quit on this dream that I had the why was bigger than all of this crud, all of these emotions, all of this frustration. Okay. So here's the thing, right? It's showing up when no one cares. No one's watching. Like I said, no, one's commenting. No one's on the live with you. Nobody is engaging. And you feel like all the things you're doing are just embarrassing you because nobody cares at the end of the day. But it's you setting your heart and mission on the end goal. Not now goal the long game, no matter how long it takes you, because you're going to make so many sacrifices from day one to wait for it. Let me tell you today, 9,720, which is where I sit right now, recording the show for you.
And it's going to have ridicule. You're going to face judgment. You're going to have an internal battle. You're going to tell yourself that this thing is it worth it? Like it's so much more comfortable to just go back to what I was doing before. Nobody made fun of me. You know, I didn't feel like a failure. I didn't have flops. I didn't have to feel this way. Okay. But you didn't have to feel that way, but yet you wanted to get out of that situation, right? So which one, which life are you going to choose? The easy, the comfortable or the hard and the long, which one you get to pick, you get to pick right now, the road for the rest of your life. The path for you is either path a, which is full of comfort, which is full of the job that you hate, which is full of.
I'll just do this because this is only what I know. And I am only worth this, or you're going to turn and you're going to face path B. And what does path B look like? Initially? It is so scary. Like gut wrenchingly terrifying. You don't know how you're going to get through that path. There are weeds. There are mean little gophers with sharp teeth. Okay. There are trolls lurking in the bushes, but you're going to put on them Stennis shades. Okay. You're going to put on those hiking boots. And you're going to say if I choose that path, but I make it through the first miles. They're excruciating. I'm going to be thirsty. I'm going to want to turn back. The sun's going to sunburn me. Like those weeds are going to scratch me. The trolls are going to bite me, but if I can make it through path B, I can make it through to my mission and my calling.
Right? I am telling you that if you want that, you have to decide that you're going to do it no matter what, no matter how long it takes you, no matter the hurdles, I want you to do it. Do the thing. Take action. Watch God's favor. Transform your life. Listen, it's his promise paired with your obedience. Did you hear that? Did you hear that word obedience? It is not our choice to wonder how to wonder when it's his choice. It is not our problem that nobody's watching right now because he can tap his tiny pinky on the call that you have and hundreds and hundreds and thousands of people can show up. Bam. But are you willing to show him and show up for your call? Right. Okay. So now here I sit six and a half years after that very first day, after those horrendous events, those crushing blows those videos where no one on I am talking, no one watched, probably not even the replay 324 months, 9,720 days, 233,000 hours.
And almost 14 million minutes later, that time would have passed anyway. Right? But yet here I sit and I have a community, a sisterhood, a tribe of almost 100,000 mompreneurs, 100,000 between my Instagram, my podcast, my website, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and my email list. 100,000 people that I can speak to impact, laugh with cry, with pour into empower, teach, mentor, provide resources to, are you willing to work for that for your business, for your dream, for your call? How long are you going to show up before you say this is too hard, Steph, it's not working well, let's see in six and a half years, if it's not working, if you consistently show up because I bet you, I would bet you like my favorite iced coffee and organic wine and a beer
Hug, that if
You dig into your mission and you show up for your audience authentically for free consistently and build a scalable platform with the right intention of helping people that you are called to help over and over and over again, there is zero chance. You have not built an online community and it'll probably be a heck of a lot bigger than mine. I'm going to tell you that right now, but are you willing to fail? Because you're going to, in that journey, I will tell you right now, you're going to have failure. So you got to get ready for that. Prep your mind for that. Say, I'm going to go for it. I'm going to show up. I'm gonna do the best that I can. And if this thing fails, it's a growth opportunity. It's God preparing me for the next thing. It was lessons that he wanted me to learn so that I could fine tune my skills.
I could create an arsenal of resources to get better from, are you willing to show up? Like right now I am sitting in my bedroom floor in the corner, holding my laptop up because my connection is wonky. And if I set it down, my microphone disconnects and my arm is almost asleep. And my kids and husband are in the living room playing. They're having fun. They're watching a movie and I'm like, I am missing out on that because I had a huge push in my heart to come and record this right now for you. Are you willing to do that? Are you going to sacrifice so that you can show up for people that need you? Are you going to take action? Scary action, action. That you don't know if it's going to pay off, are you ready to take the step? When everything in your being is telling you not to don't do it.
Stephanie people are going to laugh at you. Don't do it staff. Last time nobody came. Don't do it. Last time. You wasted a hundred dollars on snacks and food. And you spent all this time preparing, and it was just a big failure. You are not worthy of success. Is that what you're telling yourself? Tell yourself that you are worthy, that you're ready to take action, that you can do this and that you are prepared for whatever may come your way and that you are not going to let the enemy or trolls stand in your way because your dreams are so much bigger than their opinions. Are you willing to leap out for your dream? Are you ready to invest in yourself? Because this thing ain't free either. Are you willing, are you willing to do the things that are going to get you there? Well, are you, if not now when your best life is waiting for you and those minutes, those 14 million minutes, they're going to pass.
So why not dig in right now today? Take action. Take sticky, messy, yucky, embarrassing judgemental action. And then see what happens in six and a half years. Start the following. Start the community, start the podcast. Start the blogs. Start the YouTube channel. Start today. I'm cheering for you. I pray that you find encouragement, motivation. I pray that God gives you the resources and the courage to leap SIS. I pray that you're part of our sisterhood so that we can motivate and inspire and hold each other's hands. When things get hard, I pray that you have incredible uplifting, positive people surrounding you. That can encourage you when this journey gets hard. So hard, harder than you ever imagined, because it will remember to pray, ask him to support you. Love you, guide you. I am so excited for you because I think actually I know you're going to choose path B as always love and light. Steph is your life. Mama saw your mama real quick. Before you go. If you found value in today's podcast and you learn something new, take a screenshot for me, post it up in your Instagram stories and be sure to tag me because together we can empower, educate and shift the way the mom is looking at life. Because sister friend, we actually can have it all let's claim it.
