Hey, gorgeous. Welcome to another episode of the mompreneur mastermind show. Today, we are going to be digging into our websites and we're going to be talking about hacks for building trust and conversions. In today's episode, I'm going to be explaining why we need a website. First of all, cause not everybody has one. I totally get that. What a website is used for how to drive traffic and also what to put on your website and so much more. I am super pumped about today's show. And I want to say that I personally use Weebly as my website hosts. It's a drag and drop it's. So user-friendly I love it. I'm able to have a blog on this website. I can even have a store on my website. It's so professional and easy to use, which was my number one thing. So if you're looking for a way to host a simple but beautiful website, I want you guys to check out Weebly.
You can head over to Bitly slash get a Weebly website and get some special insider pricing. Before we dig into today's episode, I want to read a review. This review is so amazing. It is from Lola J who left a five star review. And Lola says I have binge listened to every episode of Steph's show over the past few days. And I can't get enough. I am obsessed with her vision for women and this insane call that she is pouring out into the world. Steph covers everything from balanced to mindset to actually making money. I love that the show is so diverse because we mamas are not a one size fits all. And if we can learn to create a life of passion and intention in every area, I say, let's freaking do it. Thank you, Steph. You are so appreciated. Y'all like, wow, this review is amazing.
And it totally pulls on my heart strings because this is exactly why I've created this resource for you. I have a mission and my mission is to inspire women to step into their godless calling truly is. And if I am doing that, then I am one step closer to fulfilling. God's call over my life and my heart. So thank you, Lola. You have no idea how much that review means to me. And if you guys haven't left a review for the show yet, but you've been loving it, do me a huge, huge favor and pause this episode right now and head over to iTunes and just leave a quick review. Let me know what you've gained, what you've learned, maybe what your favorite episode is. And I want to hear from you. This is how our show gets recognized. This is how I'm able to bring on really neat clients and people to interview.
And it's how we get ranked, which is how we get found. And we're able to spread our mission further into this world. So thank you. I appreciate you so much. Okay. Let's talk websites. You ladies ready for this. These are my five website hacks for building trust and conversion. So first and foremost, I just want to want to address one major question and it is, do I need a website? And I believe that 99% of the time, that answer there is yes. Why do we need it? Website? We've got Facebook pages. We have Instagram pages. We've got Pinterest. I mean, we're everywhere. Why do we need a name, another place to put our stuff. And here's why your website is the one forum that you control one, huh? A hundred percent aside from your email list, right? Your website is a client customer experience really.
And so while we put out content on social, social media, on YouTube, on Pinterest, on a podcast, for example, why not create this experience for people when they want to know more, it's such a gift to be able to create a platform which is a weapon, the site that has all of them, the things about you. But then you're also able to really direct the traffic from the home page, exactly where you want it to go. Like your website is the one place that you have full control of the client experience. And so why wouldn't you have one? And they're so inexpensive, you know, through Weebly, it's like 120 bucks a year or something like that, guys. And there are cheaper options for you. And there are more expensive options for you and you can choose, but there's really no excuse not to have a website.
You can even have a free website, a totally free website. So I think that it is important for you to understand you need one. Now I get it. Life is crazy. And maybe you're not at that point, just put it on the to-do list, get it on your radar. That it's something you want to work right now. What can a website be used for? Your website is really used to showcase your brand, your products, your vision, your website is used as a place for people to get to know you, to learn, to trust you. Your website is the place where you can offer value and insight. It's a place where you get people to opt in for your content, for your exclusive gifts that you have for them. It's a place where you can also sell and market all of your products, your services. It's a place you can showcase who you are and the gifts that you are ready to pour into this world.
And it's also kind of this place where you can showcase your personality and people can get to know you in a way that they really can't get to know you anywhere else, because you almost want to think of your website as a full portfolio. If you were to go in for a job interview, okay, you're going to get dressed up. You're going to look your best, feel your best. You're going to come in with your best work to show your prospective employers. You're going to have a branded resume. You're going to have references on there. You're going to maybe bring a few steps samples of your work. And you're also going to bring what you cost. You're going to bring your value to the table. I want you to think of your website as the same content. How do you want to dress up for your website?
What are the photos really professional? Is everything within branding. Do you have testimonies on there to showcase your value? Do you have a way for people to experience your work, to see you in action, to get to know your services or your products, and do you have a way for someone to actually hire you? Okay. So your website is truly your online portfolio of who, who you are now. Let's go ahead and dig into the five steps that I have for building more trust and confidence, and really just having a stellar website, having a stellar portfolio for your brand and your business. And number one here is to give your website a facelift or created in the first place. Okay. Now, what does this mean? Gosh, when was it the last time you gave your website a facelift? I try to go in there twice a year and update at least twice a year.
I get a lifestyle photo shoot. So I have new photos that I can put into my website and simply adding new pictures, really spices things up, honestly like you can go in and just add some new photos, go in there and review what you've written. I recently went in there and it had been at least eight months since I had updated the website. And a lot of what I had said no longer resonated because when I hit refresh the website, maybe eight months, a year ago, I was really coaching one type of person. And it has since evolved to, to online entrepreneurs of every kind. And so I noticed, Oh, wow. Like I really have this tone that I only work with one type of online entrepreneur. And I now work with so many people and I now have a podcast and I now have a media kit where I have sponsorships and I'm an Instagram influencer.
And there's nothing on here about that. So after I inventoried my website, I'm like, Oh, snap, like Tom for a facelift girl. So go inventory your website, look at what is working well, what is not working? One of my favorite things is to dig into my Google analytics and see which pages are bringing in the most traffic. Where's all this traffic coming from and really analyze what is working. And then what pages are just obsolete. Like what is nobody clicking on? And is there something else that I can put on this page or a way that I can drive more traffic to that page, if it's really an important page and take inventory of what's working and then update your copyright, if needed, add things that you need to add and make sure that your website is truly your portfolio for your brand, ask yourself, is this page within brand, are my colors here is my voice coming through also something that's really interesting as my writing has massively evolved.
So if you are to go and look at like a blog post of mine from two years ago, it's like very cotton candy, you know, was like, Hey girl, like, because I was getting used to writing, I didn't know who I was yet. I hadn't really dug into my own vulnerabilities and getting raw and honest on my podcasts and blogs, yeah. Videos. And so my, my style had evolved and the website, the site needed to reflect this new voice that I had found. And a lot of the pages were still very like light and fluffy. So I went through updated the copyright, made sure that it really was showcasing Stephanie at her best. All of the things about me that make me the style of coach. I am the things that are so important to me, the vision for my mission. I needed it to be present and really present Valiant.
Wow. Is that right? You know what I mean on my website? So number two, make sure that your about me page is stellar two pages that are more important than any other page on your site. It's your home page, which I'm going to go in a second. We're going to talk about that and your about me page now, why is the about me so important? I am willing to bet that if you go to your Google analytics right now, and if you don't have that, get it ASAP, because this is the way that you can figure out where traffic is coming from, what's working, do more of those things. It's so critical, but your about me, I can guarantee is profitably in. I can't guarantee it, but I'm going to guess it's in the top three most visited pages because when somebody stumbles upon a brand or a product or some value that you've put out into the world, they're curious about who is the girl behind the brand?
Like who's running the show, who's the founder of this thing. Who am I going to be working with? And curiosity killed the cat. So what are they most curious about you? Yes. You believe it or not. So make sure your about me is so great. And people really struggle here because talking about yourself, I think is one of the hardest things to do. You don't want to come across as tooting, your own horn has, you know, Oh, I'm the best. And, and a lot of times people struggle with feeling like a fraud. Like, well, I don't know if I'm good enough for this. And I don't know if this is going to impress people. And I just don't know what to say here. So for your about me page, here's my advice be yourself. And just be true to who you are, think about if you were to go to lunch with one of your closest friends and your closest friend was like, girl, what are you up to now?
And you hadn't seen this friend in a while and you know, you're really comfortable with this person. And you're like, Oh my gosh, yes. I can't believe I haven't shared with you. You know, I'm doing this now. So think about using the verbiage that you would use to a really great friend, like over coffee and let your true self come out and what I like to do and what I like to, you know, have my clients work on are a couple of things. So the about me page should have either a video. If you're a video human like me, like I am going to perform a trillion trillion, trillion times better on video or audio than I am in a blog because I'm just such an energetic person. And I think that my energy and excitement really comes through in video. If that's you, you need to have a video on your about me page.
Just say, what's up like, Hey, I'm Steph, thank you so much for checking out my brand and my products. I am actually a success coach for female entrepreneurs. And I help women step into their God led potential and then monetize their brand in an amazing way. That feels right to them. I run a podcast and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Right. And then of course you want to include some fun things about yourself. You know, maybe you can have 10 facts about me or for me, I always like to say confessions of an ambivert personality. And I have like funny little things about being kind of an introverted person that is also extroverted. So have some fun stuff. And I think always, it's so cool to include some personal stuff about you. Maybe that you have kiddos, like, think about what makes you relatable to the person, visiting your site and include that in the about me.
So I know that I am attracting the Jesus loving coffee, drinking mom, who is an a type personality. She's a go getter. She's motivated. She's inspiring. She's ready to conquer the world while wearing 10 different hats. Is that you did. I just describe you. Good. Cause you're my tribe right now. My about me section is going to resonate with her. I'm going to talk about those things. My photos are going to showcase that I have kids that I run a business. Like one of my favorite pictures on my website is me holding a poop coffee mug with my kid, climbing all over me because it's reality. And I know that that's going to connect with the woman reading the about me on my page. So create a video or at least have the really great photography that showcases who you are and then talk about what you do.
Yes, that's very important, but also who you are. And what is the value that you provide? Like, what is your name? Mission? Why are you behind this brand? Why are you the creator of the blog? Why are you doing what you're doing? Put yourself in their shoes. What would you want to hear? Or what do you need to hear? Okay. And so, for example, like if you sell skincare, you don't want to be hi, I'm Mary and I sell skincare because every skin deserves to have care. Yay. Click here to buy my skin care. No. Okay. Let's, let's redo that. So it could be something like, Hey, I'm Mary, I'm a mama. I've got two little girls. I am so obsessed with doing my makeup in under five minutes because I literally don't have time mornings to spend on makeup. Do you? I love having a simple system that makes me feel confident in beauty.
Beautiful. And I'm so excited to be behind a confidence building organic makeup brand. I also love to share tips and tricks for beauty as a mama feeling can your best and dah dah, dah, dah, dah. Okay. So Mary is not just talking about buying my skincare. Mary is talking about why she's inspired by what she does, why she's created the mission, and then what value these people are going to get from following Mary reading her stuff, watching her videos opting in, okay. What's you brings me to the last step on the about me page, which is don't forget. Get a call to action. Even on the about me page. Do you have an opt-in? Mary could have three ways to speed up your beauty routine in the morning. Click here for your free guide. If this, this is one of the biggest traffic drivers is the about me section.
Why do you not have a clickable link here? It's time to convert the viewers into followers. It's time to capture these people. Email lists, give them something of value so that you can then nurture the relationship. You can now have a new bestie through your email lists that you can pour into every week. And the more she gets to know you and laugh with you and enjoy your free content, the more and the higher probability there is that she's going to buy Mary's makeup because she likes her summary. Okay? So you're about me. You better be stellar. Number three, ask your, and go check out the numbers. Do you need to analyze? We can't just, Oh, I think it's converting. Ask yourself, how is my site converting? If you have 10 viewers a month on your website are one person of those viewers converting are 0%.
Converting is 100% converting. How many people are converting into email list subscribers, how many people are not converting? And I don't care how many people you have on your site, or you think nobody's even visiting my website. I act as if, how can God lead people to you? If you are not ready to receive them, like set up your website as if you have a million viewers a month, make sure that it is ready because I bet a million viewers are ready to be sent to your website. If you would act as if and say, I'm ready to receive these people, like I've got it set up. I'm showing up today. My branding is on point and my website is gorgeous and I have created a freebie and I'm ready to go. Like you got to kind of step into what you want to be, because you will start to attract that the people that are level with you.
So if your level kind of amateur, right, but if you step up your game, I believe that clients with a higher caliber are going to be led to you. So here's some tips for conversion. Pop-Ups are crazy, like popups work so well and a few options for pop-ups. I have a pop-up in the corner. I have a pop-up that converts people to a Facebook messenger bot. And I just use many chat.com for that. I also have a pop-up that says, Hey, snag, my 30 growth in 30 days. And that one's through privy.com. And there are so many free ways for you to add more pop-ups to your website. People are reading those popups and whether they opt in or not it's okay, because you're going to capture more people than if you didn't have one at all. And then of course, I really want you to think about what does your pop-up say?
Are you offering people something that they can't resist? If you are Mary with your incredible makeup, passion, your pop-up should say, follow me here. Here's my link opt in. I mean, people are like, like what, what does that mean? No, it's always what's in it for me. What's in it for me, what's in it for me. So give them something, you know, Hey, have you gotten your three makeup hacks guide to looking your best and under five minutes or here's a free getting started with it. Makeup tutorial for busy mama is like, give them something that has to do with your brand and put it in the pop-up because a pop-up is already going to drive action. And then when you have an irresistible offer, you've just upped the ante and people are much more willing to go all in. Here's another one tip on this one.
If you aren't have blog posts within your website, which I think is really important. And it's something that you should goal towards. Okay. Think about if you can customize your call to action, your pop-up or your opt-in within your blog. So for example, if I'm talking about passive income in one of my podcasts, I'm going to use my, how I made 3050 $2 and 12 hour webinar, because it goes together. If I'm talking about how I lost 75 pounds and went from a size 12 to a size six, that blog post I'm going to use a different type of opt-in, which might be like living mindfully and healthy and dah, dah, dah, dah. Okay. Like if I'm going to talk about a topic, I want to make sure that the call to action or the opt-in or the freebie is semi-related. So if you're a multifaceted entrepreneur like me, make sure you have a couple different freebies or a couple different call to actions that cover your umbrella brand because not all of us do just one thing.
I hope you don't just do one thing. So if you sell makeup, maybe Mary sells makeup and that's great. And she has a makeup opt-in but maybe Mary also talks about feeling confidence in women. So she, maybe she has another freebie that has to do with building your confidence as a mama, right? Like three secrets to confidence building. Every mama needs to know. And that's her call to action. Makes sense. Number four, here's another one that's important. And this question is how long are people staying on your site? You can use Google analytics to find this out, because if people are coming to your site and they're at your homepage and they're like, cool, bye. We aren't doing justice to our website or our brand or creating new followers and probably not converting anybody the longer they stay on your site. And the more they get to know you, the higher chances you have of gaining a new subscriber.
Yes. Because they're going to get to like, you know, you trust you or you're going to repel them away. And that's okay too. We don't want the people that we don't want. I don't want the wrong people to try and hire me. I don't want the trolls and the haters all up in my blog. Like bye-bye Felicia. Okay. So I'm going to be so bold with my branding, with my mission and with my call, because I want the right demographic to discover me because the right demographic is going to love what I have to give. And the same goes for you. So think about how can you create almost this maze within your website? So what do I mean by this? If you go to my homepage, you're going to see options and they're going to be really spicy. Like, Hey, if you want to grow, you're going to first have to take the step.
Like, are you ready to up your growth game, click here, dah, dah, dah. Like I'm giving them something to do with the spicy call to action. So when they click it, it takes them to a different page. And then that page is going to say, Oh my gosh, did you know? I was able to grow my Instagram by 40,000 followers and dah, dah, dah, dah, click here to learn about it. Ooh, that's fun. Click takes them to maybe a blog post inside my then blog posts. It takes them to a podcast or it takes them to another blog post. And then that blog post has the amazing juicy call to action embedded as a pop-up. So now this person who just came to find out about me or to read one blog that they found on Pinterest, they are now lost inside of my content, being redirected to all these pages, learning more, getting excited, and maybe they're there 10 minutes.
And by the end of 10 minutes, I would be surprised if this human being didn't resonate with me enough to say, I want to know more about her. I want to purchase something from her, or at least get her freebies or go listen to her podcast or do something more with this human. Yeah. So think about how you can use cross-links buttons and intertwine your content to keep people there. Number five is what are the most important pages or things to include on your web site? Number one is the home page. Obviously, if we have it 20 seconds to grab someone's attention, I think the homepage age is the most important place. It's the window to the brand. It's the cover to the portfolio. It's the trailer to the movie. So make sure your home page tells who you are with a very bold, direct tagline or mission statement right there above the fold.
They don't have to scroll to see it. You've got a really catchy photo or video because I think some people are readers and some people yeah, visual. So have both. Then you, I also want to have your branding really prevalent and then tell them what they are. We're going to gain from being here. And of course have a pop-up and a few call to actions on that. The home page number two is the about me. We've already broken that one down really specifically. So you guys know how to create a really stellar about me. Page number three, you have to have, or at least link to value. What does this mean? It means means having a blog and maybe your blog just links to the Facebook videos that you do each week, or maybe like me, my blog just links to my weekly podcast with a little blurb about what it's about and why is this here on my site?
Because it's my portfolio. I want to have a sample of my work so that people can learn something from me and gain value from me, which ultimately will create conversions into them, buying a paid, not from me or you. Okay. So make sure you have value. And this also includes your free offers. What do you have for them for free? Do you have a handbook? Do you have a free guide? Do you have a free training video? What do you have that you can offer them in exchange for their email? This needs to be on the site. Number four, within this, what should be on your website is your paid stuff, your courses, your affiliate links, your resources. How do you monetize your brand? Give people the opportunity to come and actually purchase from you. Yeah. And here's where, like, if you use something like teachable, like I do, I actually link my courses page to my teachable dashboard.
And this is great though, because I don't have to send them over to teachable. Like if I ever wanted to which hosts and you something different, the beauty of it is it's through my website. So people aren't getting fuse like, Oh, steps courses used to be here. And I always came here to buy from her. They know if they go to my website, they can get my latest free offers. They can see what my latest courses are. They can see what all my resources are that I'm using and all of the other products and services that I recommend. They know that my website is my complete portfolio. It's not just about me. It's everything. It's all the value. It's all the things. Now, next one is, how do they get in contact with you? You need a contact me page. And I think you can put your email here.
That's wonderful. But people love to stock you and like kind of get to know you and feel you out. So I would also include here every social media option that you have and that your presence on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, do you have a YouTube channel? Are you on Twitter? Like where are you? Because people want to just get to know you better. So I have all of my social media options for people, and I have a way for them to email me because I don't want to make it difficult for these people to contact me. I want them to ask me questions and work with me and hire me all right, last but not least what must be on your website, popups, freebies, and call to actions throughout, throughout someone could land on your blog. Post from Pinterest. And Pinterest is the number one driver to my website.
You guys know this goal. Listen to my Pinterest episode. Number 35. If you're like what? Like Pinterest. Yes, you must listen to that episode. If you have a website period. Okay. End of story. Now they could end up on a blog post. They could come and read about me. They could end up on one of my course pages. I don't know what page they're ending up on, but I do know that before they leave that page, I'm going to ask them to do something. I'm going to ask them if they want a free gift, I'm going to ask them to go listen to the podcast. I'm going to ask them to shoot me a DM. Like I'm going to ask them to do something. So make sure that every page within your site has some type of call to action. And remember that a call to action is always what's in it for me, what's in it for me, what's in it for me, from their perspective, they're thinking, why would I opt in?
Why would I contact you? Why would I do this? So give them a reason, give them something juicy. Now the last tip is to use Pinterest. This is the number one driver to my site. And you guys, again, this is fully covered, like in so much detail in episode 35. So if you haven't listened to that episode and you want to know how to drive traffic to your website, if your website's kind of me, or even if your website's doing great, awesome, you can be doing even better by using this incredibly amazing free traffic driver, which is Pinterest. All right. So there you go. Those are all of my tips. Like everything I have for making your websites stellar and building more trust and driving conversions. And Hey girl, if you found value and learn something today, because I bet you did do me a huge favor, like the best gift you could give me above all else is to pause this episode right now, head over to iTunes and just leave a quick review for me.
Tell me what you learned in this episode. What you loved about it. Share with me why you're showing up to this show. Why this is your show and why you are part of my tribe because I read every single review and who knows yours could be read live next. All right, beautiful. I'm going to send you off with an abundance prayer. I pray over you listening right now that you are fueled with excitement and passionate about your business and your life. I pray that you're intentional about finding balance within all areas of your life, that you pray for the guidance, the mentorship, the friendships, and the personal development that you need to grow forward. I pray that you have Grace Love and patience today, as you take on your day as always love and light, Stef.
