I launched my podcast in 2018 after searching for a way to scale my coaching business and grow my following in a faster, more authentic way. FULL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTION:

Welcome to episode 123 of the mompreneur mastermind show. I'm Stef Gass, your host, if we have never met, Hey, what's up. I'm kind of weird, but also kind of funny. I hope maybe I just think I'm funny. I'm not sure, but I'm here to inspire you to laugh and live your best flipping life as a super successful mompreneur because I believe that women were all crafted with a call on their heart and a dream that God gifted you from day one, that you are responsible for figuring out. So that's why I'm here. And I hope that we can be friends on more than just this podcast. So if you have been listening with me for like three episodes or more number one, are we friends on IG? Because you've got to be laughing at my Instagram stories. They be Cray. And number two, have you left a review for the show?

That is the number one way you can thank me because I spent hours a week gifting you guys free content that can transform your business. So shoot me a review over on iTunes and screenshot this episode in your Instagram stories. Tag me, I'll share you over in my Instagram stories and we'll share the love. Okay. That got kind of weird. Let's dig into the show today. This is live coaching with Tasha Lamaer, who is a certified life and health coach, and she really wanted to gain clarity with what she should do next. She's like I graduated from my certification as a life coach and I just kind of sat on it. Like I didn't take any action. I wasn't sure if it should be health and wellness, I'm not sure if it should be life coaching. She's also been a stay at home mom for six years and she's just feeling like she sat there, spinning her wheels and getting absolutely nowhere. And then she won the giveaway that we did, I don't know, a month ago or so. And she chose to have a free coaching session. So, you know, you guys get to be a fly on the wall in this session, and I hope that you learn and hear whatever it is that you have been seeking and searching for when it comes to gaining clarity, brainstorming, and mapping out new ideas for what you need to do. And also we talk a little bit about podcasting as her method for putting content out into the. Enjoy.

Welcome back to The Mompreneur Mastermind Show, where we choose to run insanely successful, passive income businesses that light us up while consuming iced coffee, braless and flawless, and maybe breaking it down to some gangster rap while our kids aren't looking. Did we just become best friends? Yes. Yes we did. Hey, I'm Stefanie Gass, six figure corporate exec turned top 1% network marketer turn podcaster. I believe when we let God light our path, we experienced true miracles. Welcome sister. Let's pumped up for today's Show. Congrats on winning this. That's so cool.

I know. So excited. I was freaking out. I started crying. It was pretty awkward, but you know, that's awesome. Well, tell me about you. Oh my gosh. So I'm a stay at home mom. I work part time cleaning houses just for a little bit of extra money here and there. Okay. I have a six year old and a two and a half year old. My husband works full time and also owns his own business doing virtual reality golf simulators of wool. Hello, he's trying that out. It's been only been a year and it's been a slow go, but it's coming. So yeah, that's pretty much me in a nutshell for now. Cool. And so what are you looking for on today's call? What is like the big audacious thing or question that you really want to accomplish? I think for me just getting a little bit of guidance, probably a little over a year ago, I ended up going into a course for health and life coaching.

Cause I've always coached cheerleading competitively for like, since I was 19. So I've done that and I love it. I love being in that leader role. I love guiding the kids and I love, you know, being that guider kind of thing. And then when I went through postpartum, after my second daughter, I realized how little, how little moms have support and like what there is for them as far as like, I guess support would be the best word everybody wants to just throw medication at you. Right. So I I'm, I've never been one for that. So I went into the health and life coaching and I tried that out and did my course and did everything I needed to do. Got it done in the six months that it took, said to take, but then I've just been floundering. So I guess for me just having some guidance, if this is my right calling, maybe like what sort of passive income product would go towards moms in that area?

Any suggestions with like help with mental blocks as far as content creation. Cause like I'll sit down to create and I'm like, I have no idea what to do. Right. The whole thing is just being lost. I just feel lost. So. Okay. Very cool. So let's talk first about the blocks. Okay. Because I think first of all, maybe that's not the thing. And so that's why you're feeling really resistant to it. Secondly, maybe you're feeling like you are not qualified. And so you're holding yourself back in that area of feeling like a fraud, all of those things. That could be it, you know, there's always, there's so many combinations of things that keep us from taking action. So hopefully we can dig through what those things are for you. And then my goal for today would be try to have you feeling really in alignment with whatever it is that you really feel called to do and to maybe uncover what that thing is. And it may surprise you and you may be totally terrified of it.

The reason that we found my show, the reason that you won this session, the reason that we're having this conversation right now is all on purpose and it is all on time. Okay. So whatever happens today, receive it, be ready for it. Right. But then you can't be afraid to take action on it. Even when it feels confusing, even when the, how is super fuzzy. Cause it will be. Yeah. But what if a year from now? Okay. Let's, let's look at a vision of your life of Tasha a year from now. What would that life look like if it was perfectly painted for you? I want you to think about what would you be doing? Who would you be helping? What would it, what would your time look like with your family, with your kids? What would that ideal 12 months from today? I definitely love the idea of a podcast that that definitely does feel really good for me.

Cause I'm not a video person at all. Video makes me really uncomfortable, but that's just because of my own issues. But yeah. So I think having a podcast in the works or like no successful podcast a year from now would be something that would be maybe some sort of group coaching program or, you know, accountability program with moms that, you know, I worked with one-on-one like once a week kind of thing, having some sort of course out there, again, no idea what that looks like, but some, some sort of passive product that's working for me while I'm not working kind of thing. Yeah. Just being able to have enough. I know income is not always the most important thing, but for us right now, if I had even a little bit of sort of income coming in with my business, that I could hire some outsource and stuff like you've always talked about.

Whereas that's like a nanny for a few hours or something with my younger ones so that I can just focus on work. Cause she's a handful to do things like hiring nannies or hiring cleaners or whatever that may be having the successful podcast, having the group coaching, having some sort of course or passive income product. Yeah. Just feeling like I'm doing something with my brain. If that makes sense. I'm not just sitting. I heard you say if things, but the one big component that's missing is the what? Right. Cause you can have a successful podcast. You can have group coaching, you can have courses, you can outsource, you can make money doing anything. Okay. Yeah. Now what, what, so you said only one thing in there and you said moms. Okay. So we're going to start with moms. Let's first. Let's reverse engineer that.

So you're a mom. What do you think that your zones genius are? And what do you think you are most passionate about? Like this? If you were to look at your entire life, all the things that you are obsessed with, can you break that into three things for me? Like what are you obsessed with? What are you gifted at? And don't be shy. I'm not a hundred percent sure. I know that cheerleading has, has been a passion of mine since I was 14 being an athlete and coach now coaching. Why cheerleading, is there anything about cheerleading that lights you up? Is it the coaching part of it? Is it the teaching part of it? Is it the physical act activity part of it? I think now where I'm at right now, it would probably be the coaching part of it is definitely one of the, the most things that I love about it.

And then also just the guiding, you know what I'm saying? Like I coach probably they're between 13 and 18 years old. So they do a lot of like, there's the drama in high school and all that stuff. And I'm like, I got you like talk to me about it. Okay. Yeah. You're way above that. And like that kind of like big sister mentality. Right. Okay. So that's a big thing. Part of it too. Okay. What about I have, I wrote something down, but I don't want to say it because I think I want you to get there by yourself. Keep digging here for a second. If you were to ask the three people that know you the most, what would they say about you? If you were like best friend, spouse, mom, sister, brother, friend, teacher. What do you think? My biggest strength is?

What would they say to you? Probably that I'm a really good listener because people tend to just unload even if like even strangers. Cause I'll just like first meet people and then I'll know their life story by the time I'm and I don't ask, they just give it. Yeah. I'd probably be one of them. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Listening. What else? Probably a people person, like I'm really easy to get along or meet new people kind. Okay. I have an idea for you. Okay. It's already come through for me, like very clearly, but I have no idea if it's right. And so you just have to take what I say to you and then filter it through and be like, is that specifically it? Or are there pieces of that that I love or maybe you'll hate it, but here's what I'm going to say to you.

Okay. Okay. Tasha and your brand would maybe be, you know, mom United or something about like motherhood United. Okay. And that would be like the overarching brand. And the reason is because I don't think you're a life coach. I don't think you're a health coach. I think you're kind of this motherhood, like a motherhood coach in a way where you can help, you can talk to her. Why did you have to go through postpartum because you have to help her through that. Right? Why are you the number one listener, the kindest person. You're a people person you love guiding and mentoring because I think that's what moms, especially newer moms, moms with younger kids. That's what we're dying for is a sisterhood. Right? Yeah. You had a podcast that was all about, you know, supporting mother, the motherhood journey. How do you find yourself again?

How do you navigate the hormones and the postpartums and the I'm lost and I'm confused and I'm, and maybe you just you're there and you're helping people navigate this by having other guests on. Maybe you have conversations. Maybe you just have hard conversations with, with everyday moms on your show. How freaking cool would that be? Right. Yeah. And that, and then, and then you already have credibility because you have a life coaching certificate. So it's not like you're this Willy nilly person saying, Oh, I'm helping you guys navigate these struggles that you're facing in motherhood. But not only have you gone through it yourself, you have a certificate that, you know, the questions to ask, you know, the, the direction that you can point them to start meeting through that. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I just spend a lot at you. Give it to me. What are you thinking?

It's pretty much right where I was thinking today because I've done a lot of thinking today about it and like, okay, what are the questions I'm going to ask her and where am I at? And all this stuff. And this is pretty much what I was kind of thinking anyways. So I love it. But to hear it in reverse is good. Sweet. Had you thought of like a plan for that or a name for it or any of those things? No, I didn't get that far. Cause I'm not super creative in that sense, like names and you know, wording and all that kind of stuff is something that I'm going to have to teach myself. Cause it's not, it doesn't come to me natural. But yeah. So I didn't get, and we'll talk about that too. That content block thing that you mentioned, we'll go into that.

Okay. So then if we're going to roll on this, let's roll on this idea. Yeah. I love it. Okay, great. So I don't know why I thought of the idea like motherhood United. I think what's missing for moms is the sisterhood of support because it's such a lonely journey and you know what I've heard over and over again. It's like we take these classes, we know how to give birth. We're in all the classes. And I've had all these family members and my best friend has had a baby and all these things. And they're like, how do I ha I have a human, like, nobody teaches you how to be a parent. Nobody teaches you how to handle all the stress and the worry that comes with it, you know? Yeah, exactly. So if we're to put ourselves, let's put ourselves in that new mom in her shoes, let's say that she just had a baby because I think your perfect avatar is probably someone that has maybe a five year old or younger.

Okay. And then maybe a couple of kids, maybe a first time mom, it's that newer mom let's put ourselves in her shoes. Let's name her. Let's get very clear on who she is and that's going to help you break through the content blocks that you're facing. And I think that will also give us the, maybe the strategy of what you can do for the first six months in this new journey. Okay. Right. Okay. So what is she feeling? If we can rewind back a couple of years in our own life and even where we sit today, what are the hardest parts of this journey? What are we struggling with? Just let's just start spouting words and ideas. Yeah. well my gosh, time hormones, self worth, self love, marriage, finding her passions again, finding her self again. Worthiness. I did kind of start a little bit of an avatar and that's what I'm looking at.

Yeah. I was gonna say like, you're killing it. Like so good. How to take care of yourself again once you've had a babies. Yup, yup. Yup. Self care. Guilt. Yes. Guilt. Okay. Confusion. I think there's so much confusion about, should I work? Should I not work? Like there's all of this weird new level of like crap. I have another human that depends on me. And I don't know how to deal with that. Yeah, exactly. So many different like, yeah. Like it's just a whole nother level of emotional and I don't like emotional. I'm like, why are you doing this to me? It's like, you needed to cry more. I'm giving you kids. Exactly. Okay. Emotional. confusion. Maybe anxiety. I didn't have that before. I have it now. So that's fun. Depression as well. Are you with that same paradigm? We should be talking about friendships once your mom. Oh my gosh. Yeah. 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, six, seven. We just came up with like 18 to 20 content ideas.

See, it's so funny when you like sit down with somebody else and then you exactly. And like for those content ideas, I think what I see you doing with those is the podcast, right? Let's say you did one 30 minute conversation or episode a week. That's half, you know, almost half of a year's worth of content already. And there was another name, idea that came through, which is like mom bears at all, something like that because that's kind of fun too, because let's say you took a topic every week. Like let's say the first topic was postpartum. It'd be kind of cool if like, and I know it seems intimidating to do interviews, but it's just not, especially if you were like, if you had a membership group, I'm not a membership, a Facebook group of moms. It was free. Okay. And you were like every week I pick a mom out of the group and we have a real conversation about a specific topic in motherhood.

So instead of like, Oh, share your story and it's all Lala lot. No, it's like, nitty-gritty, we're going to dig into postpartum and ask the topic today. I need a mama. That's dealt with postpartum. You get all these requests, these people, these moms that want to talk about that with you. So you pick the mom that you want, you guys come on and you start digging into like, share your story with me. How did you navigate that? What are the tips you have for other women that are facing postpartum? Here's my story. This is what I did. And I think it's kind of like a back and forth, like, because it feels like a motherhood friendship. It's not like you're teaching and you're talking at them. You're having conversations with women that are going through this and like you're adding value. And then the next week, all right, today, we're going through sleep.

What's a mama. That's dealt with sleep. That's gotten through it. That has tips for the group. I'm going to pull you on the show this week. And then you have a, you know, you have an episode on tell me your sleep journey. What happened with you? What are the tips you have for the listeners on on sleep, getting your kiddos to sleep, you're sleeping better and there's no right answer. And like, how cool would that be? I want to introduce you to my friend, Jeanette Tapley. She is actually in a mastermind with me right now. And she has her own podcast. Her show is called it's time for coffee. And it's all about meeting you, right where you're at. Because so often we feel lonely and like we're doing life all alone and by ourselves. But Jeanette and the impeccable amazing, inspiring guests that she brings on.

Want you to feel heard vaulted and like you're never alone, no matter what stage of life you are in her heart for friendship shines through each episode. And her easy conversations are just what we need to feel more connected. Plus she loves Jesus and coffee. So I think you guys are gonna love it. Go check out. It's time for coffee anywhere you listen to podcasts and add it to your queue. So that's kind of what I would see anything under that umbrella. What's her name by the way. Who's our Lola Becky, Becky. Hey girl. Becky is a mama. She's a newish mama, right? Kids under five, for sure. Struggle, bus lonely, lonely looking for, you know, mama friends that get her that can give her tips. Like she wants her life back. She's confused, anxious. All of the above that we just said, but she's, she's ready.
She's searching again. Like I'm ready to come out of this, this hole and like find myself again and be a better mama and learn how to love my life again. Right. Not just live for my kids, but live for me too. But she finds your show and she's like, Oh my gosh. I feel like I'm part of this. I love that. There's different women every single week. I love that I can go into the Facebook group and engage with them all. And there's the sisterhood for me. The next level. I think for you right now, with this type of brand, the reason that they're going to pay you is not really for give me an online course. Right? They're going to pay you for the community. Yeah. So what I would do, I would get that podcast going yesterday, right? Secondly, I then would 90 days build the free Facebook group, build it for free and make it amazing.

Engage. Lots of mama stuff. Funny mom means every day, like this is a raw mom group. Like there are no, you know, no bars on there. Let them know the topic of the week. Maybe you have a topic of the week and everybody can share. And it's like this real, this safe space. And then, you know, you can let them know guys right now, the membership group is free right now. It's free right now. It's free. But if you wanted, let's say you got it to 500 members. You could say either I'm going to start charging for this group. Something low seven bucks. They're already in love with it. They're not going to leave for seven bucks a month or we're going to have a a separate group that has some other type of amazing value. And it's a higher price point. So you could do either.

Right. Okay. But that's what they're going to pay for. They're going to pay for the community that they're, that they're in love with already. Yeah, for sure. Yep. That sounds right. So suggesting the new groups. So I have a coaching, like my coaching pages put like Tasha mere coaching. When I first came out, I have a Facebook business page for that. So you're suggesting that I opened a separate group page called mom bears at all, or whichever we decided on that one, a group just for that. What, how many people are in the coaching? One, like I think like 130 people or is it all women like 98%? I would say just change that one to this. Oh, okay. So rebrand it. And I rebranded my poor group. Like three times in the seven years I went from like a network marketing group to this [inaudible] whatever people are always welcome to leave.

But I think when you look at a group and you're looking through SEO and somebody types in, you know, I'm like motherhood, what else? Like mommy, guilt or mom hacks or new mom postpartum. All of these are SEO keywords that you need to use in your tags and your group comes up. They're going to look at that and go, Oh, there's already, you know, a couple hundred people in here. This one must be really great versus there's no one there. I'm just going to pass this group. Psychology of it, rebrand that. And then your tagline is something like being a mom is hard and no one teaches us how to do it. Let's work together to navigate this whole motherhood thing each week. I will bring you an unfiltered topic on motherhood and have a real candid conversation with another mama. Just like you join us weekly with your coffee or hashtag no judgment wine.

And we'll dig in, you know, we'll dig in the nitty gritty of motherhood. Yeah. So that's kind of like the feel I would want when I, if I was searching for your brand or your show, I'm like, Oh yeah. Like it feels down to earth. It doesn't feel preachy. It's like, I want to hear the nitty gritty stuff that people really aren't talking about and just hear like other people's life experiences with it because there's no right answer of how to my mom. Yeah. And I think that's the beautiful piece of it because there's all these podcasts out there telling you how you have to mother, but there's really not. I haven't seen, Hey, let's just be in hot mess together and like navigate this space and talk about what's working for you and what's working for me and share. Yeah. Yeah, no, I love that.

That sounds really good. So I would have the same title and the same tagline, I guess, for the podcast as well then. Yeah. That's pretty much your podcast description right there. Thanks. Yeah. Sounds great. And I don't know on those names, was there any, any of those names that like really stuck with you? Yeah. I like the mom there's at all or motherhood unfiltered or like those ones. I really like those two are the, probably the main ones that I like. So check, go daddy, and then check iTunes. Make sure there's nothing else there. As far as like channel art and things of that nature. I would say if you, like, if you had a photo, you know, visibility wise, you and another mom, you know, when you guys were like clinking coffee cups and like your hair is kind of a mess, like both of your hair is a huge mess.

Right. And you're clinking cough and it was mom bears at all. Or like motherhood unfiltered, big, huge lettering. And like the background is white and it's you guys stellar? Like I'm totally clicking on that. It looks fun. Funny. I can tell it that it's conversational, which I love. So I would do something like that. Yeah. That sounds cool. I like that for sure. So with with each of the topics for the content, would you say just posting in the group and then would I, should I do like a blog with that? Or just stick with like the group and the podcasts for now? Do you have a website already? I don't know. Okay. I don't think you need it today. You can better spend that money, getting the podcast up and running and funnel everyone to the Facebook group for now.

Okay. Okay. Now you have a mission. I want to challenge you to do this for one year and not deviate, not get distracted, not get Oh, but that looks fun. And I should talk about don't do it. Don't don't you dare do that. Stay so hyperfocused on this. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, you just go so hard on this because when you do that and you stay true to one thing long enough, new things will reveal itself through the process and something else will flow in and you'll literally know it's divine intervention and it's an answer to your prayer of how to make money from it. Like someone may, you may just start getting random women be like, do you coach? Like all of a sudden things will happen that you didn't expect to happen. And you're like, okay, I hear you. Like, here's how I make money from this.

But it's you taking the action and having the faith and the thing that you've been this call that you've been given. And I think you had to go through all the hard stuff because you're going to be talking about that hard stuff. And so it was preparing you to be an expert in those areas or at least to have her emotionality and to really resonate with that mom. And so when you step out in faith and you don't know where the money's coming from, that's exactly why the money will come in. Yeah. Okay. Cause you're finally looking at something as the calling instead of the dollar, like where should I go to make the dollar? And it's the wrong category. It's the wrong focus. And so nothing's jiving and that's why you, you were so resistant to it. It wasn't right for you. It wasn't, that's not life coaching.

That's not what it is. His mother had thing. And so anyway, the, the money, the next steps, they will all reveal themselves, but you've got to stay just so dedicated to this for a year, at least. Right. For sure. Yeah. Definitely call to action inside of every episode is let's say the motherhood uncensored Facebook group, or she bears it all a membership group, which right now ladies it's completely free for the first 90 days. They're like, let them know, like right now this is a free community, but it will not be forever. That's a great call to urgency, to, for them to get their booties in that group. Right. And then tell them every week we open up new discussion, we talk about the topic of the week in the group. We, it's funny. It's hilarious. You guys can come bare your soul. There's no judgment in here.

It's a place for moms to bear it all. You know, you can be braless and flawless and we'll still love you. Like, come hang out, looking for your mom, sisterhood. This is it. Like, that's the kind of stuff you want to say about your group funneling people in there for now. And then I think maybe when you hit that, whatever, that goal number that feels right, or when's your engagement is exploding in there. That might be the point of guys. You know, I let you know, this day was coming or everyone's grandfathered in that. I don't know, but you'll have to toy with that and see how you feel. So you have the past, you have a community feels if you were like, guys, if I was to charge $7 a month, would you stay?

Because imagine if you had 500 people in there at seven bucks a month, right? I don't know what that is. Let me, let me tell you what that is really good at, on the cuff math. Even though I have a finance 3,500 bucks a month Tasha, right? I mean, who would it like whenever I'm thinking of membership groups, here's some tips on membership groups. Cause I think that's where you're going. What would you pay? I, I buy Netflix. I buy my kids some magazines. I have like a $10 app for my son, which was literally pulling teeth for me to get for him. But because it was a smart app, but I'm not going to pay $40 a month for a membership group. And that's me like, I'm not going to do that. Now if it's like five or seven, it's adding all this value to my life, no brainer.

And the thing with no brainers is they find a ton of value. It's not expensive. And then they're talking about it. They're promoting people, they're recommending other moms come join the group. And those are the things that have like, it's sticky people. Aren't going to quit on you. Once they have the community, they have the sisterhood and the friendship in there. And they're getting value every week, every new topic every week, let them pick the topic every week. Like how fun is that? You know, anyway. So I think that's such a beautiful goal for you over the next year would be 500 members at $7 ahead. Like that's a no, no, no, no, no brainer.

That's awesome income. Like, do you feel like that amount of money for you would be, you'd be able to bring in like 3,500 bucks a month? Oh gosh. Yeah. Yeah. Cool. And that's not a hundred percent passive, but I think it would be an hour of your time. Every day to run the membership. And then the podcast, if you're only doing one a week to out two to three hours a week, that's, let's see five that's eight hours a week of working. Plus let's say you did an hour of promoting. Maybe you went and did a guest spot on some other podcasts once or twice a week. You're working 15 hours a week to make that. Yeah. That's baller. That's that's definitely appealing. Yeah. Yeah. That's good. No, I feel really good about all of this. It all sounds really great. I'm excited for you.

Yeah, me too. Thank you. You're so welcome. I hope you guys loved that episode with Tasha and I hope that it helped to bring you clarity on what the heck is happening up in your business in 2020. And again guys, if you are needing to grab a quick strategy session, holler at me, prices do go up in the new year. I am fully booked for this year, but if you book a session this year, we can get you scheduled in for January and you can still get 2019 pricing. So don't delay, it's an email at info@stefaniegass.com. And we can chat about that. I just want to leave you with the prayer. You are so worthy of a breakthrough and this doesn't have to be so hard. I pray that God gifts, you gifts you, the clarity for you to just tackle step one today that you let go of all of the must have everything perfect.

The everything has to be an order before I act mentality and that you shed all of that. And just take the first step because with action comes clarity. And I truly believe that you are even listening to this episode on purpose. That, that thing that's tugging at you, that you want to go and do that is also there on purpose. And you have a responsibility to try. So I pray that God gives you courage right now, clarity and all the things in between. Love you so much. Can't believe it's almost Christmas. So again, grateful for you. And I will see you back here soon. As always love and light, Stef.
